Community Services

The Community Services Unit consists of a Police Sergeant who serves as the primary liaison between community groups and the Police Department. Working closely with citizens, this unit helps coordinate Block Parties, Crime Watch Meetings and various community events to promote crime awareness and prevention. The unit can also perform
on-site security inspections of businesses and residences and make recommendations to make them less-likely targets for criminals. Community Services also analyzes crime statistics and trends to provide officers and interested citizens with detailed crime information for specific areas of the City. The unit serves as the point-of-contact for several important programs offered by the Department such as Citizens on Patrol, CrimeWeb.Net, A Child Is Missing and the Haltom City Emergency Liaison Program.

The Community Services Sergeant supervises three officers who provide School Resource Officer (SRO) services to the Birdville Independent School District (BISD) and a civilian employee who manages the Property/Evidence function for the Department. The School Resource Officers are assigned to the Shannon Learning Center, Haltom High School and Haltom Middle School on a full time basis. BISD and the City equally share the cost of the SRO Program.

To contact the Haltom City Police Department Community Services Unit, call 817 222-7036, or email Sgt. Jean Rowell.
