Must I complete an application if I attach my resume?
Yes. Incomplete applications may not be considered for employment. The more information you can provide us, the better we can assess your qualifications. Please include jobs you have held for at least the previous 10 years, whether or not they are related to the position for which you are applying.
Can I have an application mailed to me?
Applications are not typically mailed out because they are available here for download and can be picked up at City Hall.
Can I fax an application for employment to the City?
Yes. Faxed applications are accepted 24 hours a day. Applications will only be accepted for current vacant positions. A separate application form is required for each position applied for. Completed applications can be faxed to 817 222-7740.

What is required to become an employee of the City?
The City conducts background investigations on all applicants being considered for a position. Additionally, after a conditional offer of employment is made, a pre-employment physical and drug test is required. Some positions in the Police and Fire Departments have additional requirements such as a psychological, physical assessment, and/or a polygraph.
How long does my application stay on file?
The City of Haltom City maintains a separate vacancy folder for each posting. All applications for that position stay in that file in accordance with the City’s records retention schedule. If you want to apply for a different position, you must fill out another application.
